Remember when I told you that Walmart’s home decor is great? Well, it still is! I decided to decorate my dining room with a bright citrus theme for summer. I used fun colors like yellow, orange, and green to make the table look lively. I invited some friends over for drinks and snacks, and the decor created a nice atmosphere for our time together. The cheerful tablecloths and fun centerpieces made everything feel festive. I can’t wait to show you all the details! Let’s take a closer look at how Walmart helped me create this sunny summer vibe.
Lemon Theme Table Setting For Summer
Nothing says summer table decor like lemons! Just seeing this citrus table runner makes you think of refreshing lemonade, and it’s perfect for outdoor use, too. Since my dining room table has a nice Carrera marble top, I chose a runner instead of a full tablecloth so the marble can still shine. The bright colors and bold yellow really bring a fun summer vibe to the table.
For outdoor dining, I love using the pearlescent oval platter, which is made of tough melamine (it also comes in blue). It looks fancy enough for any party, but it won’t break if it falls. I used it for my lemon tea cakes, but you can put anything on it, like grilled food, veggies, or fruit.
This arugula salad has been my favorite this summer. My friend Donna made it, and the dressing is super easy. Just mix oil and lemon juice in a 2 to 1 ratio, add a pinch of salt and pepper, and top with freshly shaved parmesan cheese. It tastes so light and fresh! Oh, and those white ribbed bowls and yellow melamine plates are also from Walmart Home.
Summer Dining Table Decor Ideas
How cute are those tiny bud vases? There are only five sets left! They have a vintage look and add a nice touch to my table. My guests can even take theirs home. The clear glass bottles come in different shapes and sizes, making my summer table feel relaxed. You can also add some twine or ribbon for extra style.
The white striped tumbler is another great find. It comes in a pack of eight and is made from Tritan, which is BPA-free and dishwasher safe. Yay! It’s hard to find outdoor drinkware that’s shatter-resistant and dishwasher safe.
One of my favorite items is the classic clear glass pitcher. It’s perfect for any occasion and reminds me of the Kool-Aid guy—remember him? Next weekend, I’ll fill the tumblers and pitcher with mojitos!
Summer Essentials For Entertaining
Creating this citrus-themed table setup was easy and cheap. Walmart’s home collection had everything I needed for my summer decor, making it super simple. I found bright table linens and fun centerpieces that were just right for my idea. The vibrant colors made my dining room feel cheerful and inviting. I loved how each item matched the citrus theme, adding a fresh look. Best of all, I didn’t spend a lot of money to make a beautiful space for my friends. It was a fun project that changed my room without much effort. I can’t wait to host more gatherings with this happy decor!
More Budget-Friendly Home Decor From Walmart Home
And just because I love you, I put together this living room mood board featuring more of my Walmart Home favorites. Right now, texture is a big trend in decor, along with natural fibers. Each piece in the board adds a unique touch to any space. If I had to choose just one favorite, I think I’d pick that amazing textured ottoman. It looks so cozy and stylish! But I also love the rattan shade, which has a design similar to Celerie Kemble’s work. It brings a warm, inviting vibe to the room. What piece do you like the most? Let me know your thoughts!
A Little Yellow Goes A Long Way
In this picture of our kitchen, you can see how a few yellow accents really make the decor stand out. To keep the look calm and fresh, I used lots of white accents, some wood tones, and natural greenery for warmth. I also added a little bit of blue to soften the space. The yellow accents I picked are sunflowers, lemons, lemon artwork, yellow checkered tea towels, and lemon-patterned napkins. These small touches bring a cheerful, summery feel to the room without being too much. The mix of colors and textures makes the kitchen feel bright, cozy, and relaxing.
Kitchen Island Centrepiece
There aren’t many spaces to decorate in a kitchen since cupboards and appliances take up most of the room. Plus, no one wants to clutter the countertops with decor. One of the best places to add decor is the kitchen island. It usually has enough space, and a tiered tray uses vertical space well. If you don’t have an island, you can use a stand-alone table or a smaller console table for a tiered tray.
For my tiered tray decor, I stuck with my color scheme of white, wood tones, green, yellow, and a bit of blue. On the bottom tier, I added a real Eucalyptus plant from Home Depot, a basket of lemons, lemon napkins, and a fake succulent. On the middle tier, I placed a small white pitcher with lamb’s ear from the garden, a “Home Sweet Home” wood block, and a mason jar with fake sunflowers. On the top tier, I used more lemons, a succulent, a candle, and a blue glass.
When I style a tiered tray, I also add a couple of things beside it. Here, I added a potted sedum plant and a wood frame with a lemon print from Pink Lemon Decor.
Countertop Display
I like to keep my countertops clear, only putting out things that are both pretty and useful. Between the sink and stove, I have a calming landscape painting from Minted, a pale blue cutlery holder, and a bowl of lemons. Using food as decor is practical and affordable. Having lemons out in a bowl reminds me to use them more when I cook, and my boys often ask for lemonade when they see them. This setup adds some color while still being useful, making the kitchen both practical and cozy.
Breakfast Area
I created this lemon-themed table setup for our family to enjoy. Since the table is open to the kitchen, I used the same colors: white, green, yellow, wood tones, and blue. I added a bit more blue here than in the kitchen to keep things interesting but still connected. The extra blue also matches the decor in our family room, which has blue accents for summer. This makes the spaces feel tied together and gives our home a bright, inviting look that works well for the season.
